Autronica BU-320/500 Fire Alarm Panel

The Autronica BU-320/500 Fire Alarm Panel is a repeater/fire brigade panel designed for the AutroSafe 3 interactive fire detection system. It provides operation and indication of alarms and fault messages related to the relevant operating zone.

The BU-320/500 belongs to the earlier AutroSafe 3 generation, which Autronica now lists under its discontinued fire detection systems. The AutroSafe 3 system used a local AUTROLON network for communication between system units.

ZE MARINE supplies used and refurbished marine fire alarm, detection and automation equipment, subject to current stock and condition.

Autronica BU-320/500 Specifications

The manufacturer’s product page identifies the BU-320/500 as a fire brigade panel for operation of alarms and fault messages associated with the relevant operating zone. Autronica specifies panel dimensions of 195 × 347 × 85 mm with a recess depth of 32 mm.

AutroSafe 3 Fire Detection System

The BU-320/500 was part of the AutroSafe 3 interactive fire detection system. Autronica’s documentation describes AutroSafe 3 as an interactive system in which system units communicate over the AUTROLON local network.

The system included several different panels and control units, including:

• BC-320 Controller
• BS-310 Fire Alarm Control Panel
• BS-310R Fire Alarm Control Panel
• BS-320 Fire Alarm Control Panel
• BS-330 Operator Panel
• BU-320/500 Fire Brigade / Repeater Panel
• BV-320/500 Information Panel

Autronica has subsequently replaced AutroSafe 3 with the AutroSafe 4 interactive fire detection system.

BU-320/500 Repeater Panel Functions

The BU-320/500 is intended for use as a repeater/fire brigade panel within an AutroSafe installation. It allows relevant alarm and fault information to be presented at the panel location.

Available Autronica documentation identifies functions and indications associated with the BU-320 Repeater Panel, including:

• Fire alarm indication
• Fault indication
• Power indication
• Alarm acknowledgement/operation
• Buzzer silencing
• Sounder silencing
• Reset functions
• Fire brigade received indication
• Fire-extinguishing activation indication
• Fire ventilation activation indication
• Additional alarm indication

The exact available functions depend on the configuration of the connected AutroSafe system.

Marine Fire Alarm Applications

The Autronica BU-320/500 may be relevant for maintenance and replacement requirements involving vessels or facilities still operating compatible AutroSafe 3 equipment.

Potential applications include:

• Marine fire detection systems
• Ship fire alarm systems
• Fire alarm repeater panels
• Fire brigade panels
• Engine-room fire detection systems
• Shipboard safety systems
• AutroSafe 3 maintenance
• Replacement of obsolete Autronica panels
• Marine fire alarm system refurbishment

Because the BU-320/500 is a legacy component, compatibility with the existing AutroSafe 3 system should be confirmed before purchase.

Used Autronica BU-320/500 Replacement

Finding replacement equipment for an older fire detection system can be challenging after the original product has been discontinued. A used or refurbished Autronica BU-320/500 can be considered where an existing compatible panel requires replacement or where spare equipment is needed for maintenance.

Before ordering, buyers should compare:

• Model number
• Article number
• Nameplate information
• Existing panel photographs
• AutroSafe system version
• Panel dimensions
• Electrical configuration
• Required quantity

Providing a clear photograph of the existing unit can help ZE MARINE check the available stock and identify the correct equipment.

Autronica BU-320/500 Dimensions

The manufacturer’s listed panel dimensions are:

Height: 195 mm
Width: 347 mm
Depth: 85 mm
Recess depth: 32 mm

These dimensions are useful when checking physical replacement requirements and available panel space.
